Ornatrix is a plugin presently for 3dsMax that performs hair simulation for multi-purpose assignments. It provides a general framework that handles hair modeling, animation, and rendering to complete an independent package for both realistic and stylistic fiber synthesis. Ornatrix has been designed, developed, and written by Marsel Khadiyev. To contact the author, email to ibmrnet@ibmr.net This small tutorial was inspired by a Sasquatch tutorial written by Rowsby. Allthrough Sasquatch and Ornatrix are completly different products, you can translate some of the workflow from one package to another - just like with all other hair/fur packages. Please excuse the lack of grammatics etc. in this tutorial. The author does not pretend to speak or write a correct english. Maybe one day a talented Ornatrix enthusiast could make some corrections on this manuscript. The main goal of this tutorial was to explore the capabilities of the Ornatrix Material object. I made a lot of tryal and error work with the current beta release, so i decided to follow a more sistematical path and try to evaluate what is possible and what not within the Material settings. The Ornatrix material is a very powerfull tool. You can control almost every aspect of hair/fur creation. Let's take a look at it... |
