So you realy don't do hairy ball anymore? No. I don't do balls. I hate balls. I guess i don't like them becose the honk to much. But ok, if you ask me so nice i will do one - even if it will honk.

Ok here it is. Now let's stop with balls and start playing with the color channel. Well actualy we are allready playing with that channel.

I took Jeff's monsterball and played a little bit with the color channel. But why he's got that eyes so suddenly? I suppose that i has to do something with the overpopulation of hairy balls left over from earlyer testings with Shag and Shave and some cosmic-rays and DNA stuff.

Back to channels.

 

The color channel does a great job - it colors the hair. Lets apply a simple color gradient and my favorit lenght map to the hair. Yeah. It works.

 

Ofcourse you can apply the gradient also in the UV direction. With this method you can create very realistic hait with different colors for the tip and the roots.

 

 

 

You can use also any map you want. Pictures or maps. In this case you can see a marble structure applyed to the hair. Note the nice coloring in the hair volume. Tis is realy 3-dimensional coloring.
